Meet Jillian!

Jillian Christine has finally arrived! She joined us on Tuesday April 28 at 6:07 in the morning. She weighed 7 lbs. 7 oz. and was 20 inches long. Jill was a little jaundiced after 24 hours and so we brought her home with a billi-blanket until we can follow up with her Pediatrician tomorrow morning. Mom and baby are now home and doing great. Big sister Lexi is adjusting as well as can be expected and says "baby Jill is so cute". Please enjoy the pictures and feel free to stop in and visit anytime (just call first and make sure it isn't feeding time). More updates to come later.

Beautiful Weather!

I thought I would try to get in one more blog before baby Jill is here. What else is there to talk about than the beautiful weather we have had over the last few days?! Lexi has truly enjoyed the sun and loves to be outside. She even picks the pretty "flowers" (more commonly known as dandelions) for mommy and smells each and every one. Enjoy the last few pictures I have of Lexi as an only child.

Update on mommy: This morning at my weekly appointment I was 4+ cm dilated and starting to have very mild but evenly spaced contractions. My doctor said she fully expected to see me in the next day or two at the hospital and not a whole week from now at my next scheduled appointment! YAY! Stay tuned for updates or check out facebook - yes some of you will also get a phone call!

G.G. & Pa-Pa Bud

Saturday morning we got a phone call from G.G. Eileen. She wanted to know what we were up to this weekend. Since our little bundle of joy is due in just 2 short weeks, we actually have nothing planned in the near future (except enjoying the 70 degree weather and daddy mowing the yard for the 1st time this season). She wanted to know if we wanted some company for a few days. Of Course! Anytime! So, around 4 pm G.G. and Pa-Pa Bud drove in with Abby-dog. They were here until Monday around 2. It was a nice little visit and they got some quality Lexi time. G.G. and Lexi even made cookies! We also had a wonderful visit with Pa-Pa Bud's relatives from the Mentor-area. Mary and Randy Taylor drove down with Mary's mom, Laura Jean Miller on Sunday afternoon/evening. I think G.G. and Pa-Pa Bud really enjoyed the few hours they were here to visit. They don't see each other very often anymore.

On a more personal note, my O.B. appointment this morning confirmed that at least I am progressing... I have finally moved from 2 cm dilation (where I have been holding steady for 3 weeks now) to 3+ cm!!! Yay! Maybe baby Jill will actually arrive this week??!!

Happy Easter!

Well, after a rough night of little sleep for mommy and daddy (and Lexi) we managed to still have some fun at grandma Chris and Pa-Pa's for Easter dinner on Sunday. Allow me to explain... Lexi was sitting up in her bed at 3:30 am crying. Daddy got her and brought her into our room for awhile, but with each return trip to her bed she cried again. This means that she spent the rest of the night in bed with mommy and daddy and therefore none of us got much sleep. When we finally decided to give up and went downstairs around 7:30, Lexi saw what all the Easter Bunny brought her and then got to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while mommy and daddy caught a few extra zzz's on the couch. Let me just say, the Bunny was VERY good to Lexi this year; he brought books, videos, M&M's, chapstick (which Lexi LOVES) and even a talking Dora Backpack! We decided to pack up and take a few new items to Pa-Pa's for the day. As the day progressed, Lexi proceeded to get more and more stuffy, her nose was runny and she was starting to cough. Ah-Ha! The reason for the sleepless night - she was getting a cold! We gave her some meds and did enjoy the rest of the day with uncle Andrew, aunt Julie and uncle Ben. Lexi and Pa-Pa even went outside and flew her new Elmo kite, rode on her tricycle with her new Dora helmet and knee pads, and played with her new Mickey Mouse characters she got from grandma and Pa-Pa for Easter (along with a Minnie Mouse raincoat and boots). We got home around 7:30 and it was P.J. time! Lexi watched one of her new Backyardagains videos and then it was off to sleep... hopefully we won't be aroused by crying at 3:30 again with a sick child!

Fun with Ava!

While daddy was sitting in the rain watching the Indian's home-opener, Lexi and mommy had a wonderful play-date today! We met up with Shelby and her daughter Ava at their house for a few hours and then ended the morning (afternoon, actually) at Chick-fil-A for some lunch and jungle-gym fun. It was nice to catch up with an old friend from my Walgreen's days and and the girls are only months apart in age, so it is always enjoyable to watch them play and grow together. Here are a couple pictures from our mini-adventure to Macedonia.

Easter Bunny Time!

It is once again that time of year. Time to visit the Easter Bunny! Lexi is getting a little more bold, but not bold enough to sit with the Bunny-Man by herself. Maybe next year. We stopped in Sam's Club and met Mr. Bunny himself. After our photo, Lexi got a snack out of his basket and was happy. Hopefully mommy's days of being in character photos are nearing an end??!! Take a good look... My belly will hopefully soon be gone!
